  Through this workshop we will firstly be addressing the deep stabilisers that Dancers need in order to improve their technique and prevent injuries. Once we have a handle on these key muscle groups than we will continue on through dance related exercises that challenge the body’s fluidity, stability, control and flexibility. All exercises will be specific to a dancers needs and the demands that are placed on their body on a day to day basis. Learn some great intrinsic exercises as well as choreographed sequences that challenge a dancers capability. I have been a dancer for the last 26 years and have trained elite dancers for the last 10 years so this workshop is one that I am extremely passionate about and looking forward to sharing my knowledge in this area with you.

  So much of Athletic sports like football, soccer, running, etc, rely heavily on the overall health of the feet and ankles. As the workshop name suggests we will be looking at the strength and mobility of the feet first and then relating that up through the lower limbs all the way to the strength through the hips. This will be an active workshop that builds from intrinsic foot exercises to key categories that look at how the lower limb and feet placement integrate with the more advanced exercises to challenge the full body on the reformers and wunda chairs.This workshop will take your athletic programs to the next level by looking at the lead up to the exercises from the ground up.

WORKING WITH HYPEREXTENSIONS

  We all have clients with Hyper-extensions and sometimes it can be difficult to get them out of overusing their joints and into the correct recruitment patterns. Overuse of a hyper-extension in a joint can make the joint unstable and increases the risk of injury and even dislocation. Over the three hours we will be looking at the upper torso in particular, addressing the elbows and shoulders and how that affects the stability in the torso. Through this workshop participants will learn exercises, cues and tools to help progress clients from specific exercises to strengthen the hyper extended joint through to intermediate exercises that keep the joint healthy and strong.
